Outdoor Unit:

• Ensure that plants are not obstructing airflow around or above the outdoor section.
• Be careful to keep your mower discharge away from the unit.
• Clogged condenser coils will raise electric costs and could cause damage.

Air Filter:

Change your filter monthly during times of heavy use, more often if it gets dirty quickly.

Condensate Drain:

During the cooling season check at least monthly for free flow of drainage and clean if necessary. Pour 1/4 cup of bleach or vinegar into your drain every month.

Avoid chemicals near the outdoor unit:

• The safest type of fertilizer to use near the outdoor unit is the granular kind.
• The safest way to use fertilizer near the outdoor unit is while the system is off. This will help keep the outdoor coil safe from damage from chemicals.
• Ants will sabotage the electrical operation of your system. Poison ants near the outdoor unit.
